TGTWREIS Promotes Education Employment and Entrepreneurship Among Students
The Entrepreneurship Ecosystem at Telangana Tribal Welfare Residential Degree College (Girls), Khammam was inaugurated on 18th August 2026, marking a significant step towards empowering young women with practical skills, entrepreneurial exposure and pathways to self-reliance.
The initiative has been developed under TGTWREIS’s prestigious EEE – Extensive Pathway: Education, Employment & Entrepreneurship, with the objective of moving beyond classroom-based education and providing students with hands-on experience in skill development, product creation, branding, marketing and entrepreneurship.
The programme was inaugurated by Smt. K. Seetha Lakshmi, IAS, Secretary, TGTWREIS & EMRS, as the Chief Guest, with Sri B. Rahul, IAS, Project Officer, ITDA, Bhadrachalam, as the Guest of Honour.
Eight Entrepreneurship Activities
Based on current market trends and students’ interests, eight practical entrepreneurship activities have been established:
- Beauty Parlour
- Maggam Work
- Tailoring
- Seed Pen Making
- Jewellery Making
- Dhoop Stick Preparation
- Palm-Leaf Basket Weaving
- Organic Cleaning Products Manufacturing
These activities are designed to help students transform their creativity and skills into market-oriented products and potential livelihood opportunities.Purpose & Outcomes
The Entrepreneurship Ecosystem aims to:
Develop entrepreneurial thinking and practical skills.
Provide hands-on exposure to product development and production.
Create awareness of market demand, branding, marketing and business management.
Encourage students to explore self-employment and entrepreneurship as career pathways.
Build confidence and the ability to convert skills into sustainable opportunities.
Create a foundation for taking student-made products to online platforms through effective branding and marketing.
Addressing the students, Sri B. Rahul, IAS, shared valuable guidance on entrepreneurship and informed that business sessions from IIM would soon be facilitated to further strengthen students’ business and entrepreneurial skills.
Smt. K. Seetha Lakshmi, IAS, encouraged students to think beyond conventional career pathways and highlighted the importance of connecting their handmade products with online markets, professional branding and effective marketing strategies, enabling them to gain real-world business exposure from their college years.
The dignitaries also participated in sapling plantation at Ashwani Vanam, the institution’s special herbal and medicinal plants garden, promoting environmental responsibility and sustainable development.
The occasion also witnessed the felicitation of meritorious students, parents and faculty mentors for their contribution to the students’ achievements.
The inauguration marks an important milestone in the journey of TGTWRDC (Girls), Khammam, strengthening TGTWREIS commitment to providing students not only with quality education, but also with the skills, confidence and opportunities required to become employable, entrepreneurial and self-reliant citizens.
